Afterschool professionals get new resource

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 2, 2009 -- Today, the BAM Radio Network (BRN), a joint project of Moving & Learning and Jackstreet Media Ventures, announced a partnership with the National Afterschool Association (NAA) to launch NAA Radio (www.naaweb.org). The new media resource will feature discussions with leading experts in the fields of education, child development, play research, and more, and will bring afterschool professionals the latest insights, practices and developments in the care of children and youth during their out-of-school hours.

Available on demand, the program will be nanocasted on the NAA website and distributed to members through the organization's newsletter. The NAA Radio launch is part of BAM Radio Network's campaign to reach underserved communities.

"This is an exciting resource for the afterschool and education community and will provide timely and important information to program directors, administrators, educators and parents," said NAA President and CEO, Judy Nee. "As we look towards summer when so many children need to be kept engaged and safe, we are delighted that our first interview is with Ron Fairchild, executive director of the National Center for Summer Learning, talking about the importance of summer programs."

"We're looking forward to working with Judy and the National Afterschool Association to keep their members well informed and on top of what matters most to afterschool professionals," said Rae Pica, co-founder of the BAM Radio Network.

About the National Afterschool Association

The National Afterschool Association is the leading professional association for the afterschool field with over 9,000 members around the world. NAA's mission is to be the leading voice of the afterschool profession dedicated to the development, education and care of children and youth during their out-of-school hours.

About BAM Radio Network

The BAM Radio Network was launched to address the severe imbalance in parenting practices caused by the "commercialization of parenting" and the emphasis on intellectual development that excludes the critical role of the mind/body connection in early childhood. Created by leading early childhood experts, the programming challenges the popular educational misconceptions and seeks to provide the most up to date insights from leading experts in the field of child development. The network is a joint venture between New Hampshire-based Moving & Learning and Los Angeles-based Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. The program is produced by Emmy-winning broadcaster Errol Smith and distributed through the Affiliate Nanocasting Network.
